Why We Built NorthStar
Most people's memory of an emergency room involves a plastic chair and a very long evening. That experience is not a medical necessity — it is a consequence of scale. A large hospital department must absorb everything that arrives at once, and the queue is what follows.
NorthStar was set up to answer a narrower question: what would an emergency room look like if it were sized for a neighborhood rather than a city? The answer turned out to be a freestanding, independently owned facility on Cypresswood Drive, licensed to handle genuine emergencies, staffed continuously by emergency-medicine physicians, and run at a deliberately unhurried pace.
We are not an urgent care clinic and we are not a hospital. We occupy the ground between them — hospital-grade capability, neighborhood-scale attention.
How We Work
Independently Owned
Decisions about staffing, equipment and pace are taken locally by the people who work here. There is no distant head office setting a throughput target, which is precisely why we can keep rooms free.
Continuously Staffed
A physician board-certified in emergency medicine is present at every hour, alongside emergency nursing staff and technologists. Cover does not thin out overnight or across a public holiday.
Equipped On Site
CT, digital X-ray, ultrasound, EKG and a certified laboratory all sit within the building. Diagnosis happens during your visit instead of across several appointments.
Rooted Locally
We treat the people who live around us — Cypresswood, Spring, Willowbrook, Klein, Cypress and The Woodlands. That proximity shapes how we behave, because our patients are also our neighbours.

Our clinical team is made up of physicians board-certified in emergency medicine, emergency nurses, and radiologic and laboratory technologists.
